Bearcat Tyres was established in Sydney in 1973 primarily as an industrial tyre supplier on behalf of its USA parent company BEARCAT. John Bloxham and staff were pioneers in introducing mobile press trucks to provide "on-site solid tyre fitting" for material handling equipment corporations, transport companies and large fleets.

In 1986 BEARCAT TYRES became a privately owned family business keen to expand supply by adding "best in class" products including ARNCO tyre flatproofing (USA), RAEDER VOGEL polyurethane (Germany) & CEAT earthmover tyres (India).
In 1999 the business was acquired by the SOLIDEAL International Global group of companies. Solideal manufactures tyres, wheels & rubber tracks in several different continents including Sri Lanka with over 9000 staff and 100 distribution outlets in 60 countries. Solideal manufactured tyres and wheels are supplied O.E too many of the world's largest equipment manufactures. The acquisition by Solideal greatly increased the supply abilities of Bearcat locally by expanding the access to premium tyres and investing in state distribution outlets.
In 1999, Bearcat began the quest to become one of Australia's leading suppliers of construction, industrial and earthmover tyres by planning to open branches in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, plus support a wide regional distribution network through independent tyre dealerships across Australia. Material handling equipment remains the key focus of the operations with local sales executives maintaining B2B relationships with major customers.
In February 2004 Bearcat introduced a specialised wheel manufacturing facility based at the Girraween location (Sydney) Australia. With rim bases sourced from SOLIDEAL, wheels are designed and completed to the highest standards to cope with the high demands of industrial, coal & hard rock mining and earthmoving applications.
In 2008 specialised tyre grab tracks or "CEMS trucks" for large OTR tyre fitting were being rolled out to assist with large industrial, port service and earthmoving tyre servicing. New "Silver Bullet" quick response mobile press trucks were also being incorporates into the fleet to provide more support to our growing material handling business across the nation.
In October 2010 Bearcat tyres was part of the SOLIDEAL Group merger with CAMOPLAST INC. Camoplast are considered the industry leaders in quality rubber track manufacturing offering superior performance and the best warranty in the industry. The full range of construction rubber tracks for compact track loaders, excavators and multi terrain loaders is now available through Bearcat.
From 2007 - 2010 Bearcat worked in conjunction with key business partners to test a wide range of radial OTR tyres in port service, earthmoving & mining applications. After years of performance testing and results the full range of AMBERSTONE, DURATOUGH & HILO OTR tyres are available and in-stock along with off the shelf wheels, on-site fitting, TPMS units and premium tyre coolants.
